The building and its story
Our five apartments
With roots dating back to the 1800s, this apartment building is currently undergoing a full renovation focused on preserving its original character while updating it for modern living. The five units are located just a short walk from downtown Beloit and will be available for rent in Summer 2026.
Unit 1: 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sunroom, office/bonus room
Unit 2: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sunroom
Unit 3: 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, two sunrooms
Unit 4: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sunroom
Unit 5 (attic): 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom
Each unit is being thoughtfully renovated to include in-unit washers and dryers, modern appliances, improved storage, energy-efficient systems, and upgraded HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. Original hardwood floors and sunrooms are being restored where possible, along with enhanced security features throughout the building.

The inspiration behind the name
Francis Apollo Apartments is named for my grandfather, Francis, who lived and worked in this building from the late 1960s to the early 2000s. Apollo, our pet crow in the mid-90s, is pictured here in the backyard on his shoulder. I’ve always loved this photo, and it felt natural to name this unique building after the most unique pet I ever knew and its former owner, my grandfather, Francis Witkins.
I spent a lot of time in this building growing up, and it has always held a special place in my heart. Now I’m renovating it with care and respect for its history, hoping to make it a wonderful place to call home for the next generation of residents.
